Rebecca has wanted a baby to love for so long, it feels as if she has wanted this since she was herself a baby! On her fourth birthday she received a baby doll that made sounds like a real baby. As she held the doll in her arms, she knew she wanted her own child more than anything.
Over the years Rebecca planned it all out, so much so, she practically had it on a spread sheet. She would finish high school and go right on to college. She would be graduating just as she was turning 22 and by then, according to the plan, she'd be engaged. She would marry at 23, and the first baby would come along by the time Rebecca hit 24.
And Rebecca kept with her schedule. She took extra classes during the summers and graduated from high school early. She entered college and got a Bachelors Degree in Child Development. The man came a little later, but by the time Rebecca started working they were living together. Finally when she was 25, they were wed and Rebecca couldn't have been happier. Now she could focus her attention on getting pregnant.
Two years later and still no baby, and Rebecca is ready to sacrifice anything and everything she has to have a baby. She came to me filled with fear and anguish. “Am I being punished?”, she asks, “I was so sure this would have happened by now.”
